Sunlight slices rays of bright sunlight against the dark depths of Blyde River Canyon
This image is the perfect example of an important compositional lesson in landscapes that I always teach to clients. If there is not much interest in the sky then you don't need anything more than a sliver of sky to give the image a 'ceiling'. Interest doesn't necessarily refer to clouds as you often get great colour gradients even without clouds.
