OK, so yeah everything dark is on the right of the image and everything light is on the left...but I don't particularly care. The light is great, the colours are beatifully done and the movement of the water is spot on...Great image
I've been reading comments and I don't feel as though this is empty at all. It has good background and foreground interest. The colours a lone speak for themselve. The exposure is perfectly on time for the water movement and the composition is strong, I love it
Yeah I agree with aFeinPhoto-com, it's an awesome shot but its lacking impact, then again, I don't really think it needs it that much, it's all about the light and movement. Great timing and exposure time too, you captured that splash on the rocks brilliantly.
How often do you get a sunset worth shooting where you are?
The hardest thing to learn about using a 10 stop grad is when to leave it in the bag. It can really make some shots, and it can ruin others. In this case I think Hougaard got it right...the shot is all about the dynamism of the wave, a very long exposure would have had the sea like mercury and the foreground looking misty because of the water sweeping up and down the beach.
