[EDIT] green thing desaturated

For the last 20 years of my grandfather's life he spent at least 2 hours a day standing on the exact spot where the ghost is standing....He never really caught that many fish, but I think it was more about getting away from my grandmother, feeling the spray and the waves of the sea he loved so much, and smoking his pipe....

I wanted to call this photo "fishing with my grandfather's ghost", but as in many cases, DA doesn't allow enough characters my title....

from where the closest fisherman is standing, I wanted to take it from those far off rocks, but you can only get to them dry and safe at dead tide.

Here's my inspiration for this photo... [link]

The processing took about an hour and I had to play around with several things to get the colors I wanted.

That's some pretty extreme colors you've got there :D I like 'em! I can image how boring this image could be without them :P I also like the concept of this photo, but... I don't like the ghost. In fact, it looks unnatural (WELL DUH!) and totally not your style. And ehh, whats that green thing in there? haha :)

I actually prefer this to Gilad's. I think there's more interest in the shot.

Question - how careful are you when shooting shots that are to be stitched later? Are you simply shooting by hand or with a tripod with maybe even a pano head on it?

Either way the results are very impressive and great inspiration for my visit to South Africa next month.

totally agreed! this one's better than Gilad's...

And my question is, whether you devide the picture into 2 areas (sky and bottom) to get the 2 colored style...
so that you don't get the orange tint also in the sea for example...

very nice one...
