Stellenbosch mountain last night...

I'm not going to answer every 2nd person's OMG WHO DIED questions. Nobody dead. A few buildings that burned down but nothing serious.

The noise is pretty damn unbelievable. In the shadows above the helipad it's quite bad but the oranges are damn smooth!

omg that's incredible! We had an insane fire out here a few years back (Okanagan 2003) but I missed it. Pictures like this have always made me curious as to what it would be like in person. Though I'm not about to pull an Ansel Adams in order to find out!

yip but the whole town was in chaos...this fg is better than what I would thought I could get. Would have been damn awesome if there was a heli parked though:D

Amazing shot!
Fires are mesmerising aren't they? They sing to us and dance for us like sirens.

We get fires every summer here in Australia and generally in our area too. The only problem i have with fires is the loss of the landscape and people's lives. But the landscape grows back sometimes better than it was before because of the tragedy :) kind of like humans sometimes.

So i am thankful that no one was hurt here.
