We seldom get electric storms in the Western Cape, but usually on a few abnormally hot days in summer the big mushroom clouds form over the Cape mountains. On this day in January I decided to give chase and ended up somewhere between Touwsrivier and Calvinia. While there isn't a gallery for this specific area on my map, it's closest to the boland area.

Very dramatic shot. I'm kinda surprised to see lightning there since they don't even look like storm clouds. The colours and lighting are very surreal, even for sunset. It kinda has an alien mood to it
What interests me the most are actually those two strange plants in the foreground, I wonder what type they are - they look like coral
