One could spend a lifetime photographing the potential waterscapes of the 1km of beach at Kogelbay. When you live a 40 minute drive from it, it creeps into your soul that you will never get the perfect shot of it and that you can always improve. So I shoot it at least once a week when I'm at home, sometimes 3 times a week. It has become part of my life, and few things are as relaxing and soothing to my soul as a sunset on the sands of Kogelbay. Maybe a beer at the end of a hectic week, or your bed after being away from home for weeks.
I'm trying to mix things up with the standard mountain compositions. I went crazy with dodging and burning here and gave it a duotone look using levels. Opinions welcomed. I know my last BW of kogelbay wasn't met with open arms so I'd like to know what you think of this one.
I was there on Sunday. I sat on a rock stack in the rain for an hour with no results. I went again on Monday with much better results like this image. The cape has a good 80% layer of high clouds right now with a clear horizon, so I'm heading there again for sunset today. Hopefully it's a flaming red one
